All CONNECT 2024 ‘In-person’ attendees must agree to the below Terms & Conditions as part of the Conference registration process.
The following Terms and Conditions apply to all registrants and guests of registrants attending CMiC Connect 2024 (“Connect 2024”), which is put on by Computer Methods International Corp. (“CMiC”):
1. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT: Each person that wishes to attend Connect 2024 must register in advance and pay for his or her registration. Registrations are made online and are not considered final until payment has been received. Payment can be made by credit card at the time of registering or by mailing a cheque after registering. CMiC reserves the right to refuse access to Connect 2024 to anyone that has registered but that has not paid for his or her registration. There are additional activities that take place on the afternoon of Sunday, November 10, 2024, prior to the official commencement of Connect 2024. Such activities are not included in the registration price. If you wish to participate in any of the additional activities, there will be an additional cost, and appropriate safety and individual waivers will need to be signed to participate. All prices are stated in and are payable in US Dollars.
2. APPLICABILITY These Terms and Conditions apply to you, to the company you are representing, and to any other person that you are including in your registration, be it another member of your company or any guest of any member of your company, such that you and all of the foregoing are bound by these Terms and Conditions. By registering attendees and guests in addition to yourself, you agree that you have their consent to register them, that they have been made aware of these Terms and Conditions, and that they agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Registration for and attendance at Connect 2024 by you and anyone else you are registering (including guests) shall be deemed to be agreement by each person (including you), and by the company you are representing, to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
3. ATTENDANCE As the organizer of Connect 2024, CMiC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit or deny access to Connect 2024 to any entity or individual. To be eligible to attend Connect 2024 you must be at least 21 years old.
4. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS Registrations may be cancelled at any time subject to the following refund policy:
• Registrations that are cancelled more than 30 days prior to the first day of Connect 2024 will receive a full refund.
• Registrations that are cancelled 30 days or less prior to the first day of Connect 2024 will not receive any refund. Notwithstanding the foregoing, for registrations that are part of a “Group Rate Discount” there will be no refund for any cancellations until after there has been a number of cancellations equal to the number of “complimentary registrations”. For example, where the “Group Rate Discount” was applied such that there were 2 complimentary registrations and 8 paid registrations, there will be no refund for the first 2 cancellations, but the above refund policy shall apply to any subsequent cancellations. If any registrants do not cancel their registration, but do not show up at Connect 2024, there will be no refunds for such registrations.
5. SUBSTITUTIONS You may substitute your registration with someone else at your company at any time before the first day of Connect 2024, provided that you have notified CMiC in writing of such substitution. More than one person cannot use the same registration.
6. AGREEMENT TO ABIDE BY APPLICABLE LAWS Anyone attending Connect 2024 agrees to abide by all applicable laws and regulations, by these Terms and Conditions, and by any other specific rules with respect to Connect 2024 that they are notified of by CMiC.
7. CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION By attending Connect 2024 you may receive access to confidential information of CMiC by way of CMiC presentations or otherwise. You agree not to disclose any confidential information of CMiC to any third party and that you may only use confidential information of CMiC for your internal discussions within your company.
8. LIABILITY To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and unless otherwise set out herein, under no circumstances will CMiC or any of its affiliates, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents be liable for any types of damages (including direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, special, etc.) you sustain as a direct or indirect result of your attendance at or participation in Connect 2024 and any of its associated events. The foregoing limitations do not limit or exclude CMiC’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from CMiC’s negligence or willful misconduct. CMiC has the right to cancel or re-schedule any session at Connect 2024 and will have no liability whatsoever for any such cancellations or re-scheduling. If CMiC cancels Connect 2024 other than in accordance with the below paragraph, registration fees will be refunded and any liability of CMiC will be limited to the amount of the registration fee paid without any additional liability to CMiC. If CMiC cancels Connect 2024 due to one or more events beyond its control, registration fees will be refunded less a 25% administration fee and any liability of CMiC will be limited to the amount of the registration fee paid less 25% without any additional liability to CMiC. CMiC is not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
9. INDEMNITY You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CMiC and its affiliates, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents against any and all claims, demands, proceedings, damages, costs, charges, and expenses whatsoever resulting or arising from i) your attendance at or participation in Connect 2024 and any of its associated events; ii) your actions or inactions while attending Connect 2024 and any of its associated events; and iii) your breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
10. PERSONAL DATA The only personal data that CMiC collects is the name and contact information of each attendee. Attendees’ personal data will be used for the purpose of administering attendees’ participation in Connect 2024. In addition, premium sponsors of Connect 2024 will receive a “pre-show” and “post-show” attendee list. If you do not wish to be included on the attendee lists that are provided to premium sponsors of Connect 2024, please advise CMiC in writing at least ten (10) days prior to the start of Connect 2024. Other than as stated in this section, attendees’ personal data will not be used for any other purpose and will not be transferred by CMiC outside of CMiC, including to other attendees. CMiC will comply with applicable personal data protection and privacy laws.
11. WiFi You may be provided with access to CMiC’s WiFi while at Connect 2024 (although CMiC is not required to provide anyone with such access). If you receive access to and use CMiC’s WiFi, you agree to the following:
• The WiFi provided is a free open wireless Internet service for use only at Connect 2024.
• By accessing the WiFi through any device, you agree and acknowledge that you are an authorized user of such device.
• The WiFi is through an unencrypted public wireless network and you are solely responsible for ensuring the privacy and integrity of any transmissions you make or receive, as well as for the safety and security of any systems you attach to the WiFi. You take full responsibility for any necessary security precautions including, but not limited to, for encrypting confidential transmissions and for backing up any data.
• You agree that CMiC may routinely monitor, audit, intercept, and disclose communications over the WiFi for security, performance, or other purposes. CMiC may remove an attached device from the WiFi at any time for any reason.
• You agree that you will only use the WiFi for Connect 2024 related purposes and that you will not perform any unlawful or immoral actions through the WiFi.
12. PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO RECORDINGS Photographs and video recordings may be taken during Connect 2024 for promotional purposes. Attendees who do not wish to be photographed or recorded should advise CMiC in writing prior to Connect 2024.
13. GENERAL CMiC reserves the right to amend any part of these Terms and Conditions or to add or remove terms and conditions from these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. If one or more of the terms or conditions outlined herein is or becomes invalid, the remaining terms and conditions will continue to be valid and applicable.
